SNAP application seminar scheduled for May in Korea

Warwick RI, USA, January 17, 2001- RITEC. and its Korean representative, MKC Korea, are pleased to announce the scheduling of an application seminar to be presented at the Korean Institute of Standards and Science (KRISS) on May 23, 2001. The seminar will be presented by Mark McKenna, Ph.D., Vice President of RITEC and will be hosted by Seung Seok Lee, Ph. D., Group Leader and Principal Researcher of the Nondestructive Measurement Group at KRISS. The seminar will discuss the applications and use of the RITEC System for the Study of Nonlinear Acoustic Properties (SNAP) for making novel measurements of nonlinear acoustic properties.

The RITEC SNAP System is the first commercially available state-of-the-art ultrasonic instrument designed specifically to make possible the study of nonlinear properties for the nondestructive evaluation of materials. The instrument embodies all of the features of the RITEC RAM-5000, which also makes it an outstanding tool for conventional measurements of attenuation and ultrasonic velocity, especially where electromagnetic acoustic transducers (EMATS) and air-coupled transducers are used.
Learn more about upcoming seminars in the NEWS link of the www.RitecInc.com and www.MKCKorea.com websites. Further information on the studies at KRISS can be found at www.kriss.re.kr/kriss2000/english/industrial/in2/index.html.

RITEC hosts combined seminar for Korean researchers

Warwick RI, USA, January 10, 2001- RITEC and our Korean representative, MKC Korea, are pleased to report the participation of three researchers from the Republic of South Korea at a training and application seminar held at the RITEC facility in Warwick RI on January 8-10, 2001. In addition to our representative for South Korea, Mr. M. K. Cho from MKC Korea, attendees were Professor Dong-Man Suh from the Division of Electrotechnology and Telecommunications at Kun Jang College, Mr. Hyun-Mo Jung from Choong Nam University, and Dr. Sam-Lai Lee from the Korea Atomic Energy Research Institute.

The seminar dealt with the many applications of the RITEC SNAP System and the RAM-10000 measurement system — the ultrasonic inspection of welds using electromagnetic acoustic transducers (EMATS), the ultrasonic inspection of agricultural products such as fruit and vegetables, and the examination of materials for micro-cracking, for example.

Our SNAP System is the first commercially available, cutting-edge ultrasonic instrument designed specifically to make possible the study of nonlinear properties for the nondestructive evaluation of materials. The instrument embodies all of the features of our RAM-5000, making it an outstanding tool for conventional measurements of attenuation and ultrasonic velocity, especially where electromagnetic acoustic transducers (EMATS) and air-coupled transducers are used.

Further information on upcoming seminars will be available in the NEWS link of the www.RitecInc.com and www.MKCKorea.com websites. Read more about the innovative SNAP system and the RAM-10000 in the PRODUCTS link of the www.RitecInc.com website.
